Senior Software Engineer role designing and developing enterprise Java-based software capabilities for government clients, with emphasis on modern AI-assisted development workflows and technical leadership.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities using Java, Spring Framework, and enterprise API/RESTful patterns
- Lead multi-file feature implementations and codebase refactoring using next-gen AI coding agents (Claude/Gemini) while maintaining security and architectural standards
- Architect and develop microservices-based solutions with distributed databases and NoSQL technologies
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering team members while serving as technical lead on assigned projects
- Manage context and workflows across complex, multi-repository application architectures with critical code review and auditing
- Maintain proficiency with modern DevOps tooling (Git, Maven, Nexus) and Agile methodologies within fast-paced small business environment
- Work hybrid from San Antonio office (average 2 days/week) with flexibility to adapt to schedule changes
