Senior Backend Developer supporting an IC customer building mission-driven applications. Design and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases using Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend functionality and REST APIs using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenSearch, and PostgreSQL
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and database migrations with attention to performance and data integrity
- Build and maintain Docker images; deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications in OpenShift
- Investigate and resolve production issues across UI, backend services, database, and application deployment layers
- Work with customers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify dependencies, and estimate implementation effort
- Participate in technical design and code reviews, write automated tests, and maintain technical documentation
- Mentor developers and collaborate with operations and security teams to support reliable application delivery
Mission
This role supports an Intelligence Community customer developing mission-critical applications. You will work on backend systems that directly enable customer operations, requiring active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
