Cloud Network Engineer 2 ***Remote opportunity with up to 25% travel. Position Overview The Cloud Network Engineer 2 supports the operation and administration of cloud network communications systems, including the design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cloud network architectures and infrastructure. Responsibilities Supports the operation of the cloud backbone for network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for cloud network architectures. Administer, monitor, install, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of systems. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software, virtual appliances, interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc. Understands how commodity cloud servers, operating systems and networks function, perform and scale. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience. Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience. Certifications IAT-2 certification required. One or more cloud certifications required. Clearance Active Secret clearance required.
What you'll do

- Operate and administer cloud backbone infrastructure supporting government network communications systems
- Develop technical specifications and detailed network architecture schematics
- Conduct network design testing and validation to ensure performance and reliability
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across cloud and on-premises network infrastructure
- Maintain current technical expertise across cloud platforms, OS, and network hardware/software
- Evaluate and optimize how commodity cloud servers and networks scale under operational demand
