This role sits at the center of SoloPulse Corp's radar sensing mission, where you will design, develop, and implement advanced signal processing algorithms that power dual-use radar systems serving both commercial and defense customers. Day to day, you will translate complex radar phenomenology into working software, refine detection and tracking algorithms, and iterate quickly in a startup environment where your contributions directly shape fielded systems. Strong foundations in DSP theory are essential — including waveform design, clutter suppression, CFAR detection, and Doppler processing — along with hands-on experience coding in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ for real-time or near-real-time applications. Familiarity with radar hardware integration and a working knowledge of RF systems will set you apart. Because this work spans critical defense programs, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. SoloPulse is a venture-backed Atlanta-based startup, so you should be comfortable operating with autonomy, moving fast, and solving problems that do not yet have established playbooks. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for an engineer who wants their work to matter.
What you'll do
- Design and implement radar signal processing algorithms including CFAR detection, pulse compression, Doppler filtering, and clutter suppression for dual-use radar systems
- Develop and validate algorithm performance through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and live data collection campaigns
- Analyze radar return data to characterize system performance and drive iterative improvements in detection and tracking accuracy
- Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to ensure signal chain integrity from antenna through processing pipeline
- Translate operational requirements for commercial autonomy and defense programs into concrete DSP design specifications
- Prototype and benchmark processing solutions in MATLAB and Python, then support transition to real-time embedded implementations
- Contribute to technical documentation, program reviews, and proposal efforts supporting new dual-use radar contracts
