This is a hands-on role covering installation, service, and repair of electronic and mechanical locking hardware, low voltage door control systems, and access control solutions for commercial and residential clients across San Diego and broader Southern California. Pay ranges from $30–$50/hour depending on experience, and the company provides a service van — no personal vehicle required. No formal locksmith license or prior locksmith experience is required; the employer is willing to train the right candidate who brings solid mechanical skills and a genuine interest in the trade. You will work directly with clients in the field, so comfort in a customer-facing role matters. Candidates must be able to pass a standard background check and drug screening. What you'll do
- Install, service, and repair electronic and mechanical locking hardware for commercial and residential clients
- Troubleshoot and maintain low voltage door control and access control systems
- Work directly with clients to diagnose problems and recommend hardware solutions
- Install and configure door operators and electric strike/magnetic lock systems
- Perform precision mechanical work on cylinders, closers, and door hardware
- Stay current on new and innovative locking and access control products
- Conduct site surveys and ensure proper operation of completed installations
