Junior Software Engineer Columbia, MD 154 – 182K Deliver cutting-edge capability solutions that tackle the toughest cybersecurity challenges! In this role, you will operate at the cutting edge of modern cyber operations, fusing advanced software engineering, reverse engineering, and vulnerability research with scalable cloud architectures. You won't just analyze code—you'll dissect complex software systems, uncover critical vulnerabilities, and architect cloud-native delivery solutions for specialized operational content. If you thrive on tearing software apart to see how it works, hunting down zero-day flaws, and translating deep technical findings into impactful cyber capabilities, you’ll fit right in with Team Nyla. Required Skills • Software Engineering: Demonstrated proficiency writing scalable, high-performance software in C, C++, Python, or Assembly. • Reverse Engineering: Hands-on expertise disassembling and decompiling binaries using tools like Ghidra, IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, or GDB. • Vulnerability Research: Proven background identifying zero-day vulnerabilities, logic flaws, memory corruption bugs, and target exposure areas. • Cloud Technologies: Practical experience designing, building, or deploying capabilities within cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes) Desired Skills Operational Support: Prior experience supporting live operational cyber missions and providing rapid-response technical content. Kernel & Low-Level Analysis: Deep understanding of OS internals (Windows, Linux, iOS, or Android), kernel-mode debugging, and hardware execution architectures. Modern DevSecOps: Experience incorporating CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and modern testing suites into operational code development.

What you'll do

- Reverse engineer binary targets using Ghidra, IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, or GDB to understand software behavior and identify exploitable conditions

- Conduct vulnerability research to discover zero-day flaws, memory corruption bugs, and logic errors in complex software systems

- Develop scalable, high-performance cyber capability code in C, C++, Python, or Assembly

- Architect and deploy operational capabilities within cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes)

- Translate reverse engineering findings into actionable, operationally-deliverable cyber capabilities

- Support rapid-response technical content development in support of live cyber operational missions
