Own the operational requirements and product strategy for Target Effect Pairing, an AI-enabled joint targeting decision-support capability for USPACOM. Translate targeting doctrine and decision authority into buildable requirements that keep inherently governmental decisions with humans.
What you'll do
- Map USPACOM's current targeting workflow from target development through nomination, approval, and assessment; identify gaps between command practice and doctrine; confirm accuracy with government targeteers and document decision authority points.
- Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements that encode targeting doctrine and inherently governmental decision points; ensure engineers and designers can implement without rework cycles on operational intent.
- Develop representative scenarios and acceptance criteria to test whether recommendations are complete, relevant, and defensible before government evaluation; surface operational problems early.
- Frame feature requests in terms of operational problems, not feature descriptions; provide Technical Program Manager with priority recommendations grounded in operational value with visible reasoning.
- Conduct demonstrations with targeteers, JFE/JTCB staff, and J32 operators to gather feedback that steers the product roadmap; establish measures of success before build and report against them after release.
- Explain the basis, assumptions, and limits of targeting recommendations to non-targeting stakeholders in terms they can build and act on.
Mission
Agile Defense is building Target Effect Pairing (TEP) on the Maven Smart System for USPACOM Joint Fires. The capability recommends target-and-effect pairings to targeting staffs with AI-backed reasoning that can be traced, explained, and audited—accelerating capabilities analysis and commander decision-making while preserving human authority over inherently governmental decisions.
