Part-time RF hardware engineering intern supporting SDR-based data acquisition system design, assembly, and fabrication at a dual-use radar startup. Ideal for hands-on engineers who want practical experience in hardware development, testing, and manufacturing documentation.
What you'll do
- Assemble and modify SDR hardware including fine-pitch SMD rework such as oscillator replacement
- Build matched-length coax cable sets and manage reference clock/PPS distribution between boards
- Design and 3D-print custom enclosures, board mounts, and repeatable antenna array fixtures
- Execute hardware bring-up, phase-stability, and calibration tests while logging results
- Produce clear, reproducible build notes and documentation for unit manufacturing
Mission
SoloPulse develops dual-use radar sensing technology for both civilian safety and military autonomy applications. This role directly supports the company's hardware development pipeline, enabling the creation of reproducible, field-tested data acquisition systems that advance radar innovation.
Required skills
- SMD soldering and rework (hot air, flux, solder wick)
- Parametric CAD (Fusion 360, Onshape, or FreeCAD)
- FDM 3D printing with tolerances and material selection
- SDR hardware assembly and modification
- Oscilloscope and multimeter operation
- Coax cable assembly and matched-length builds
- Hardware bring-up and calibration testing
- Technical documentation and build notes
