In this role, you will sit at the center of SoloPulse Corp's radar sensing mission, designing and implementing advanced signal processing algorithms that power both commercial and defense radar systems. Day to day, you will develop detection, tracking, and waveform processing solutions, translating raw sensor data into actionable outputs for applications spanning autonomous systems to military platforms. You will own the full algorithm lifecycle — from concept and simulation through integration and validation — working closely with hardware and systems engineers to optimize performance under real-world constraints. Success requires hands-on fluency in DSP fundamentals, radar signal processing techniques such as pulse compression, Doppler processing, CFAR detection, and beamforming, along with proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ for algorithm development and prototyping. Familiarity with FPGA or GPU-based real-time implementation is a strong advantage. Because a portion of this work supports government defense programs, candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. This is a high-ownership position at a venture-backed Atlanta startup where your algorithms will directly shape how radar sees the world.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and validate DSP algorithms for radar detection, tracking, and imaging across dual-use civilian and defense applications
- Build and maintain MATLAB or Python simulation environments to model radar signal chains, clutter, and interference scenarios
- Translate algorithm prototypes into optimized C/C++ or FPGA implementations suitable for embedded radar hardware
- Collaborate with RF hardware and systems engineers to characterize sensor performance and close the loop between algorithm assumptions and real-world measurements
- Analyze field-collected radar data to diagnose failure modes, tune algorithm parameters, and drive iterative performance improvements
- Support proposal efforts and program milestones by generating algorithm design documentation, performance analyses, and technical briefings for government and commercial customers
