Lead the Honolulu engineering team building Target Effect Pairing (TEP), an AI-driven fires decision-support system for USPACOM. You own technical execution of a distributed architecture while staying hands-on, turning operator feedback into shipping code and maintaining quality across two geographically separated teams.
What you'll do
- Lead the Honolulu engineering team to ship software aligned with the Lead Software Architect's program architecture, with no local variants or integration rework.
- Translate USPACOM operator feedback into prioritized backlog items with technical approaches and estimates, working closely with the Product Manager and Fires SMEs.
- Review code and make design decisions within the established architecture, documenting decisions so the Lead Architect rarely revisits them.
- Ensure software releases deploy cleanly into secure government environments with traceability for audit and fast recompute performance for operators.
- Raise engineering standards through effective code review, design mentoring, and hiring practices that make new engineers productive within their first month.
Mission
TEP is a Maven Smart System capability that provides USPACOM Joint Fires commanders with traceable, auditable AI recommendations while keeping inherent governmental decisions with humans. The Honolulu team sits co-located with end users, directly shaping how the software fits operational workflow.
