This Software Engineer role supports a national security mission by designing, developing, and maintaining software systems in a classified onsite environment. Day-to-day work involves writing clean, maintainable code across the full development lifecycle — from requirements analysis and architecture design through implementation, testing, and deployment. The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to build and integrate backend services, APIs, and data pipelines, while also troubleshooting production issues and contributing to code reviews. An active Top Secret clearance is required prior to starting, as all work is performed onsite within a classified facility. What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications operating within classified or secure government environments
- Write clean, well-documented code and conduct peer code reviews to uphold software quality standards
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects across development, test, and production environments
- Integrate software components with backend services, databases, and RESTful or message-based APIs
- Collaborate with system engineers, program managers, and end users to translate mission requirements into technical solutions
